Stockton Brook Scout and Guide Group Council exists to manage the Group Headquarters building
and to raise funds by organising special events such as our autumn bonfire and firework display. 

Group Council meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every other month.
All parents of young people in our units, as well as all Leaders are automatically members of the Group Council and can attend all meetings. 

 

If you wish to stand for any one of the positions below or wish to attend Group Council meetings as a parent please contact the Chairman

Role and Responsibilities
  Chairman Rob Poole Rob Poole To run the Group Council, Manage the building and grounds, support the Group Scout Leader and Guide Leader
Vice Chair Alan Mathers   To support the Chairman in management of the building and grounds
Treasurer Ken Adams Ken Adams To administer the Group Accounts.
Secretary Miriam Adams To take minutes of the Group Council Meetings
  Bookings Secretary Jill Brown Vacant To take bookings for the Group Headquarters, open and close the building where required. To provide advice on the building and items
Quartermaster Derek Batley To manage and maintain Camping and Outdoor Equipment
Bonfire Organiser Rob Poole Rob Poole To manage and administer the annual bonfire
Auditor Pauline Poole Vacant To audit the Group accounts annually
  Parental Role 1   Vacant Each Role to be held by a Parent  (not a Leader or Unit helper) to provide independent support to the Group at the 6 Group Council Meetings per year.

The Group would like more parents to become involved with the Group and have their say.

Group Council meetings normally last for up to 2 hours, and take place on the first Wednesday of every other month in January, March, May, July, September and November

  Scout Leaders     There must be Three Scouting Leaders in attendance at Group Council meetings for a quorum, in the event of a voting issue Three votes will be counted from the Scouting side
  Guide Leaders     There must be Three Guiding Leaders in attendance at Group Council meetings for a quorum, in the event of a voting issue Three votes will be counted from the Guiding side
