Kibblestone Challenge Cup Activity Weekend Friday 13 to Sunday 14 April 2012

We will be taking part in this weekend again this year, as our Guides thought it was Fantaztic last year.
Kibblestone put on a number of Activity events throughout the year. We have chosen to go to this one as
1) It is in Spring and warmer
2) We take tents with us everything else including Food is laid on for us
and 3) more important it provides a range of challenging activities for our Girls where all of the Instructors are provided and all we have to do is turn up and participate and provide some leaders to assist with manning bases.

Kibblestone will arrange Six  1 1/2 hour Activities during the weekend, some of which will be on site Outdoor activities and some will be team challenges. All groups will be divided into teams of 16.

On Saturday night we will be given a challenge to do - but will not be told what this is until a week before the event so we need to be resourceful.

All of the equipment is provided and food including two English breakfasts and a Sunday roast.

All we have to do is turn up with tents.

cost is £35 per person plus VAT  = £42
which as we are there from 6pm Fri till Sunday works out at just over £1 an hour for lots of fantastic fun, adventure and entertainment.

On site activities at Kibblestone include:

Kayaking
Canoeing
Rafting
Abseiling
Climbing
Low Ropes
High Ropes
Jacobs Ladder
Crate Stacking
Assault Courses
Zip Wire
Shooting  (a separate permission form will be provided)
Artificial Caving

Please note that activities will be assigned by group and we will not get a choice of what we do, we will be in teams. But we do need to say what individuals cannot do so that we can let Kibblestone know.

Go Streamline - Guiding database
Girlguiding UK has an online central database for all members of Guiding - this is now live, and all members details are input on this.

this is helping cut down on Guide leaders paperwork as we used to keep a mixture of paper and computer records, contact details, registers, and subs lists and have to sift and transfer a mountain of paperwork between each other.

As your daughter moves through her Guiding life, Rainbow to Brownies, to Guides, to Rangers/Senior Section you had to fill in record cards for each event. Goodbye paperwork - the secure online database (password and licensed level access only) now allows all warranted Guiders to access this information at their fingertips.

Each girl will is given a unique membership number (as Adults are now) which will stay with her throughout her Guiding life, and as she transfers units parents will only need to provide any information that has changed, as Guiders will be able to identify her from her ID number.

Subs Owing
A number of Guides have been sent letters as there are Subs and Activities monies owing.
