We are always looking for willing helpers; parents can offer us help in many ways:-

  • Parents often have skills they can offer as an item on our programme, this may involve you in a few hours here and there
  • Parents often have interesting jobs: Arts, Wildlife, Sport, Animals etc
  • Parents are often involved in interesting activities and  can offer the opportunity for a visit to our meeting place or external visit or activity: culture, sport, crafts,  or other activities.
  • You may be able to suggest places of interest that our units can visit ore help out with
  • You may have friends and acquaintances who could help!
  • Transport: external trips and activities mean we need to transport our boys and girls, you can offer help in this way.
  • Occasional help at our meetings, or external activities: an hour or two on a weekly, bi- weekly, monthly, termly, or with trips and special events
  • Some of our Unit helpers and leaders started as parents helping out and found they could not tear themselves away. ........ Could this be you......you could take things further:- -

Volunteering with One of our Units

Volunteer to hep out on a more permanent basis......

In the UK there are 50,000 girls on waiting lists to join Guiding
and a similar number of Boys AND Girls waiting to join Scouting

For every 5 to 12 boys and girls we need one Adult Leader.....
(There are different ratios  depending on age of members)
So your offer of help means that 5 to 12 more boys and girls may get the opportunity to experience this great world of Scout and Guiding....  and less on our waiting list.

If you are interested in volunteering,  helping out or getting a name down on one of our waiting lists speak to one of our Leaders or email one of our units using the adjacent contacts

If you are interested in finding out more or volunteering with another unit or more nationally

You can volunteer as  Leader, Assistant Leader, Unit Helper/Pack Assistant, Young Leader, or in many other ways:-   See Below
